After a facial, it is essential to avoid certain activities to maintain the treatment's benefits and prevent skin irritation. First, steer clear of heavy makeup for at least 24 hours, as your skin needs time to breathe and recover. Second, avoid direct sun exposure and apply sunscreen diligently, as your skin is more sensitive to UV rays post-treatment. Lastly, refrain from touching your face excessively or engaging in activities that cause sweating, such as intense exercise, to prevent clogging pores and introducing bacteria to your freshly cleansed skin. Following these precautions will help ensure the longevity and effectiveness of your facial.
Wash with a gentle cleanser, use a light moisturizer, drink plenty of water, and protect your skin with SPF 30 or higher for the next few days.
Most people can go back to makeup and workouts after 24 to 48 hours. Wait about a week before using strong exfoliants or retinoids, or getting waxed.
