The recipient should sit in a straight-backed chair, with feet flat on the ground and arms resting comfortably on their lap. Their head should be in a neutral position, neither tilted forward nor backward, to avoid strain on the neck. The practitioner should stand or sit comfortably behind the recipient, maintaining a relaxed but upright posture with feet shoulder-width apart for balance. This alignment allows the practitioner to use their hands and fingers effectively to apply pressure and perform various massage techniques on the head, neck, and shoulders without causing fatigue or discomfort. Proper posture helps in achieving the therapeutic benefits of the massage, including relaxation, relief from tension, and improved circulation.
